THE THOUSAND ISLANDS - Day One: Travel to The Thousand Islands--the area in Upstate New York near the resort community of Alexandria Bay, where the St. Lawrence River meets Lake Ontario. Accommodations for the next two evenings are at The Riveredge Resort. From this 4-Diamond award winning hotel located directly on the water, you will see large ships pass right through the main channel from the Great Lakes to the sea. Tours of Distinction wine and cheese reception before dinner at the hotel, then (weather permitting) a trip into town to watch the famous sunset over the St. Lawrence. Day Two: Full breakfast included at the hotel, then onto a 22-mile round trip "Heart of the Thousand Islands" cruise, through both American and Canadian waters, and including Millionaire's Row. Professional guides provide lively narrative through the narrow channels. Visit mysterious Singer Castle on Dark Island, and romantic Boldt Castle on Heart Island. (Both islands include some walking.) Dinner included. Day Three: After breakfast, we leave Alexandria Bay and travel to Herkimer NY in the scenic Mohawk River Valley. After lunch (included) at Waterfront Grille, we board the Erie Canal Cruise for an excursion through the locks of the historic Erie Canal. Return to Southington is planned for 7:00pm (approximate).

COLORS OF VERMONT - Travel to Bennington, Vermont, starting with a visit to Hawkins House, a 3,200 sq.ft. crafts market. Lunch is at Mt. Anthony Country Club with choice of stuffed pork, chicken Francaise, or grilled steak with mushroom demi glaze, and also includes salad, dessert and coffee/tea. Travel to the Bennington Battle Monument, and end the day with a visit to The Apple Barn and Country Bake Shop in Bennington, where you'll be treated to a slice of hot apple pie a la mode and choice of beverage.

STURBRIDGE CHRISTMAS BY CANDLELIGHT - Christmas by Candlelight at Old Sturbridge Village is an evening filled with 19th-century New England holiday traditions. With your tour director, enjoy live musical performances, storytelling, sleigh rides, festive foods, a roaring bonfire, strolls around the decorated Village Common, and nightly tree-lighting and gingerbread house contest! The Village Common and the buildings around it are transformed into a magical, picturesque nod to Christmases past. Decorations feature twinkling lights, glowing candles, fresh evergreen garlands and wreaths, and a 40-foot Village Christmas tree. Rooms in the Salem Towne House show Christmas decorations like those of the 1830s, 1850s, and 1870s. The Parsonage decorations are inspired by "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. Your Turkey Dinner Lunch will consist of Tossed Mixed Greens Salad with Candied Pecans and Dried Cranberries, Hand Carved Turkey with Cranberry Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Butternut Squash, Warms Rolls, Dessert, Coffee, and Assorted Teas. Step back in time and get into the Holiday Spirit! (Includes gratuities for both tour director and bus driver.)

Start with two nights in Munich with an opportunity to go to Saltzburg, Austria where “The Sound of Music” was filmed. Then onto Oberammergau with its painted houses and The Passion Play.
