Waterbury's Brass Buttons Thursday, August 15th, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Join Mattatuck Museum's MATT ON THE GO! as they visit Calendar House for a presentation on The History of Waterbury's Brass Buttons. Waterbury was nicknamed the Brass City after becoming the center of America's brass industry in the 1800s, but did you know that brass buttons started it all? In this unique presentation, learn about the history of Waterbury's brass buttons and admire the intricate art of the buttons of the Waterbury Button Museum.
