AARP SMART DRIVER COURSE
November 3rd OR December 8th; 8:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. Only 4 hours - No written or road tests to pass! Ways to adjust for aging and health-related driving issues. Connecticut-specific information. (formerly known as 55 Alive Safe Driving) Cost: $15 for AARP Members (must provide membership #) $20 for Non AARP Members. Payable to AARP. Register at 860.621.3014
Special note: Due to limited parking during construction, you must park at Grace Methodist Church. Shuttle service will be available - picking up at 8:15am and returning at end of class.

Stained Glass Club
Create beautiful stained glass art using the copper foil method used by Louis Comfort Tiffany. This is an informal group, with a great deal of combined experience, willing to share!!! Beginners welcome.

Computer Lab Open
The facilities of the Computer Lab are available to registered students for a period of one year from the start date of their class. The open Lab sessions are monitored by a member of the Computer Learning Center staff who will be able to provide a assistance. Lab users must not load software onto the computers or change any settings as we must maintain uniform standards for our tuition program.

Open Lab periods are: Monday from 9 AM to 11 AM and Wednesday from 1 PM to 3 PM.
Please bring your student class card with you to confirm that you are a current student.

Advanced tablet & Phone
Explore advanced features of your Apple iOS or Android phone or tablet device This will be a workshop where attendees will collaborate as a group to address their questions about functions and applications relating to their device. Additionally coverage will include tips and tricks; maintenance and troubleshooting; customizing and configuring; security; and more.

Computer Fundamentals
Become comfortable with all you need to know to use a computer to use search the internet, communicate by E-Mail and manage photos, files and folders. This class will start with the basics of computer use with mice and keyboards, show you how computer files and folders can connect to your tablets and phones, and open up the world of the big wide web.

Intermediate/Beginner Water Color Painting
Beginner/intermediate level of students. A list of supplies will be available in the office prior to the first day of class. Limited to 15 students.

Android Tablet Basics
This six week workshop will cover the basics of using your Tablet including email, browsing the web, watching videos, playing games, choosing apps, reading books, taking photos & videos, etc. If you own an Android Tablet such as Samsung, Nexus, etc. or have a Kindle Fire, come share the fun, and discover all the special features of your tablet.
Please note that this class does NOT cover the Apple iPad.

iPad Basics
This workshop will cover the basics of using your iPad, keeping the system up to date, purchasing 'Apps', using the camera, emailing to friends, using calendar functions, surfing the internet, and fiddling with all the features that this truly magical machine brings to your computing world.

Kindle Fire Refresher
This six week workshop is for Kindle users as well as other Android Tablet users. After reviewing the basics, this course will cover the following topics more in depth: use of the web, email & contacts, calendar, music, videos & books, games, downloading & setting up apps, camera & photos, etc. Come share the fun, and discover all the special features that will make your tablet an indispensable part of your world! Former Kindle & Android Tablet students welcome!
You must own or borrow a kindle fire or other android tablet for class.

MEMBERSHIP MEETING
All are welcome at the Calendar House Membership Association Meeting! You are encouraged to come for a brief update on the "business" and offer your thoughts, comments and suggestions! Following the meeting, enjoy light refreshments.

COFFEE 'N DESSERT - "KEEPING MEMORY STRONG"
Join us on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm for tips on keeping your memory strong! Learn activities that will challenge your brain while having fun. Presented by Patty O’Brian, Dementia Specialist with the Hartford HealthCare Centers for Healthy Aging. It is important that you RSVP at 860.621.3014.
